Compare and contrast the major military branches in terms of Homeland function. Point out their respective strengths.

While the military itself divides its responsibilities to include combatant zones with homeland defense, the major military branches in terms of Homeland Security are somewhat similar yet different in the functions they provide and serve.   The Navy provides intelligence on the capabilities of foreign naval powers, provides global maritime intelligence integration supporting the global fight against terrorism while enabling maritime domain awareness for home defense. 

The Air Force is relied upon to secure the borders and is crucial to success on terrorism through NORAD and is charged with providing aerospace warning and control for North America by using a network of ground-based radars and fighters to detect, intercept and if necessary, engage any probable threat to the continent. 

The Marines are under the operational control of the navy and has constructed a plethora of intelligence organizations and operational programs relevant to the fight against terrorism. 

The Army conducts intelligence, security and information operations for military commanders and national decision makers.

Do you believe there is a superior method or application compared to LP? If yes, which one(s)? How does this relate to your line/area of work? If your organization uses something other than LP, what is it?  And is it better?  If so, why?

Considering applications of LP, is there a situation where LP can be useful in your personal life? How?  Please provide one or more examples.

Could you use linear programming to create an optimal food diet (diet in the general sense, not specifically to lose weight)?  How?  What types of constraints would you have?  What role would sensitivity analysis play?

When is sensitivity analysis most useful?  Least useful?  Provide examples. 

Can you provide examples by identifying specific companies that employ LP models? Have you ever utilized the LP model in your line of work?

What are some of the LP model assumptions and limitations? Can you provide examples where the assumptions and limitations will affect the use?

I have seen a practice at the local amusement park, where visitors can pay additional money to "jump the line" for rides and go to the front instead of waiting.  
What do you think of this practice?  What impact does it have on the customers?  How does it affect the business?  If you were trying to use a waiting line model, how would it be affected?

Some places have transitioned to a single waiting line that leads to the set of servers.  Every customer waits in that same line, and when at the front of the line, moves to the next server that is available?  What do you see as benefits of this method? What are the disadvantages? 

Think about times or places that you have had to spend a significant amount of time waiting.  Do you think that the business/organization takes a different view of waiting than the customer/client?  Explain what you think is the reason for waiting on the business/organizations part, and the impact of the waiting on the customer/clients part.
