Q1: Using a range of work-based examples, critically determine the purpose of an effective employee relations strategy. (Learning Outcome 1)
- • Using Social Exchange Theory (see for example Homans 1961; Blau 1964) as your baseline frame of reference, address both individual and group/team mechanisms that might be used by an organization in constructing and engaging an effective employee relations strategy.
- • Simply providing a range of advantages and/or disadvantages is unlikely to evidence any depth of understanding on the subject. You must critically examine why and how a variety of approaches (probably not more than three or four) might be used.
- • It is extremely important to provide specific work-based examples from a range of culturally diverse sources to facilitate this discussion. You will be expected to include a minimum of four (4) examples.
